Cross Cultural Training
Increasingly, both public and private sector organisations are recognising the importance of staff training which not only provides an awareness of the benefits of cultural diversity but also practical strategies to improve communication, both within the workplace and with clients. There is a need for training which can foster improved intercultural communication and have a direct impact on productivity, safety, participation and increase utilisation of employee skills.
NSW AMES cross-cultural training courses are designed as part of a collaborative process. A pre-course assessment is conducted to establish key issues, authentic critical incidents and the key skills and experiences of staff. These are then used to create a course which meets the exact requirements of the organisation in the most relevant way.
Current NSW AMES cross-cultural training programs include:
- Communicating with a Culturally Diverse Clientele
- Leading a Culturally Diverse Team
- Team Participation
- Recruitment and Promotion in the Culturally Diverse Workplace
- Grievance Resolution in the Culturally Diverse Workplace
- Cross-cultural Communication Skills for Workplace Assessors
Organisations may be eligible for WELL funding if there is a demonstrated need for language, literacy and numeracy training in the workplace. NSW AMES assists organisations in all industry sectors to design, deliver and report WELL funded training programs.
