Overview

Course demonstration.

In this online course you learn how to give courteous and efficient service on the phone and at reception and how to deal politely and constructively with customer complaints. You watch three video interactions, analyse the language elements and other spoken communication essentials such as voice quality, stress and intonation and then build your own skills using a range of dynamic tools.

Customer Service is part of EnglishatAMES, a rich multimedia learning environment which utilises video, sound, animation and interactive tasks. Activities are varied and range from gap filling to working with video scenarios and guided dialogue builders.

Learning outcomes

In the Customer Service course, you learn to:

  • identify needs of customers by asking questions and listening actively
  • handle incoming calls and take accurate messages
  • manage multiple tasks at reception
  • respond appropriately to customer complaints
  • create a climate for mutual problem solving
