Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English - Employment

Overview

The Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English – Employment (CSWE IV) is designed for people from non-English speaking backgrounds who have overseas qualifications, training, skills or experience. Students study one of two specialisations: jobseeking or workplace communication.

The CSWE IV - Employment jobseeking specialisation develops awareness of the culture of the Australian workplace, and improves students jobseeking and workplace communication skills.  

The CSWE IV - Employment workplace communication specialisation improves spoken and written communication skills for casual and formal workplace interactions.

Learning outcomes

By completing modules of the CSWE IV – Employment jobseeking specialisation you learn to:

  • identify potential employment
  • prepare CVs and job applications
  • prepare for job interviews
  • improve workplace communication skills

 

In the CSWE IV - Employment workplace communication specialisation you learn to:

  • write more effective reports
  • communicate more confidently in meetings and negotiations
  • provide better service to customers
  • improve day-to-day written and spoken communication skills
  • improve your pronunciation and grammar

Eligibility

Organisations may be eligible for WELL funding if there is a demonstrated need for language, literacy and numeracy training in the workplace. NSW AMES assists organisations in all industry sectors to design, deliver and report WELL funded training programs.

Certification

Participants can complete individual modules or full certification. They will be awarded statements of attainment or Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English – Employment. Selected CSWE IV modules typically form the basis of NSW AMES tailored courses, WELL funded training and Skillmax programs.

Licences

NSW AMES has developed and accredited a range of courses with the NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB), including the Certificate IV in Spoken and Written English - Employment.  Licences to deliver these courses are available from NSW AMES.  Accredited courses can be delivered only by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) who have purchased a licence to deliver the courses.
