What are the challenges in finding work in your profession?

If you are an Australian permanent resident, with an IELTS of 6.5 - 7.0 or equivalent and have overseas qualifications, then SKILLMAX is the course for you.

Skillmax is:

• a fast track course to prepare overseas professionals to enter the Australian workforce
• funded by the NSW Government 
• free for eligible participants

Human resource specialists and employers will provide sessions on the current expectations of finding work and career advice. They will also provide interactive workshops.

On completion of the course you will have:

• access to an industry mentor 
• an opportunity to undertake work experience

Learning Outcomes
In the Skillmax course you will:

• develop a greater awareness of workplace culture and current trends in the Australian labour market
• find your fit in your field of expertise 
• develop a career portfolio including your résumé and cover letter
• learn strategies to identify employment opportunities
• prepare for the job interview
• gain career management skills
• learn skills to market yourself effectively

Eligibility
Candidates must:

• be a permanent Australian resident
• have overseas qualifications
• be seeking work in their field of expertise
• have an IELTS score of 6.5 - 7.0 or equivalent, with this IELTS score being achieved within the last 3 years
